A Testament consists of two major books.

The first part is his autobiography. There are over 200 illustrations, photographs, plans and original drawings, many of them published for the first time. They begin in 1888 with his first drawing used to show Louis Sullivan on applying for a job, through 70 years.

The second part, The New Architecture presents the nine great principles upon which Wright has unremittingly based his lifework. This book includes a four page high foldout his detailed presentation in drawings and plans of the twentieth century miracle 'The Mile-High Skyscraper City'.
